Google Reclaims…

Recently Google  had to go through a lot of bad press and some of it pretty grave too.

It had this problem with Orkut which was experienced and voiced by Mark Ghosh on Weblog Tools. It ofcourse hurts when someone slings mud over your favorite online brand. The sinking shot was that of the Gmail Outage experienced in over two continents for a little over two and half hours!

This is enough for a Google-Fan to go into a deep depression. The day actually became brighter when suddenly something that the Gmail-Team did, reminds you that at heart Google is still the best and keeps getting better. Today Google introduced two things in Gmail:

  • Multi-Select
  • Progress Bar

Up until today, it’s been a little tedious to send large or multiple attachments with an email. You had to select each attachment individually and you never knew how long it would be before those bigger files were ready to send.

Google has changed the way Gmail attachments work. If you want to send a few files from the same folder, simply hold down the Ctrl key and click on each file you want to attach to your message. You can also hold down the Shift key to select a continuous list of files.

And ofcourse you not only save on the additional clicks but can see the progress as well.

Google surely rocks! 🙂
